2.4 Test Wi-Fi and SD Card
Check List · Step 4 of 12 · Connect to FluidNC WebUI and verify the microSD slot

Objective: confirm that the controller creates its FluidNC access point, that WebUI opens at
192.168.0.1, and that a FAT32 microSD card can be read and written.⚠️
Before starting: main power must be on and the V4.7B test YAML must load without errors.

Connect to the Controller Wi-Fi
- Restart the controller and wait about 10 seconds.
- Open the Wi-Fi list on the computer.
- Join the FluidNC access-point network shown by the controller.
- This is a local controller network; it normally has no Internet connection.
💡 Do not leave the controller network just because the computer reports “No Internet.”

Open FluidNC WebUI
- Open Google Chrome.
- Enter http://192.168.0.1.
- Confirm the Dashboard, Console and Files pages open.
- Leave the page open for a minute and confirm the connection remains stable.
macOS: if the
captive.apple.com window says you are disconnected, click Cancel, remain connected to the FluidNC AP, then open Chrome yourself and enter http://192.168.0.1.3
Insert and Detect the microSD Card
- Power off the controller.
- Insert a known-good FAT32 microSD card.
- Power on and return to WebUI.
- Open the Files / SD area and confirm the card appears.

Read and Write a Test File
- Create or upload one small text or G-code file.
- Refresh the list and confirm the filename remains visible.
- Download or open it again to verify reading.
- Delete the temporary file, then power off before removing the card.

Normal behavior: WebUI stays connected at 192.168.0.1 and the SD file can be uploaded, listed and read back.
🔧 Quick Troubleshooting
- If no FluidNC AP appears, restart and wait 10 seconds.
- If 192.168.0.1 does not open, confirm the computer is still connected to the controller AP.
- If the SD card is missing, power off and reseat it, reformat as FAT32 or try a smaller known-good card.
- The test YAML uses MISO GPIO.19, MOSI GPIO.23, SCK GPIO.18 and CS GPIO.5.
